The Afterlife of Waste

This project was a co-production between Bullfrog Power, a company that invests in green energy projects across Canada, and BASF, an international chemical company who is interested in finding ways to build a circular economy around plastic waste.

Bullfrog Power has been a longstanding client of mine, so when they approached me in late 2019 about an idea to create a documentary highlighting the importance of transitioning to a circular economy, I was excited to come on board.

Initially the plan was to interview different companies with environmental mandates in their own workspaces, and shoot b-roll to accompany the documentary, but with the pandemic the project pivoted to virtual interviews and stock footage b-roll. What resulted was a documentary made entirely with people who didn’t have to leave their homes.
